West fell out of favor in Cleveland because of his off-the-court behavior and a rumor that has circled about him a star’s private life.

The Cavaliers traded him to the Minnesota Timberwolves earlier in the offseason, who wasted little time in waiving him.

When he is playing at a high level, West is a quality reserve off the bench who can play both guard positions.

He will certainly strengthen Boston’s bench and add some much needed youth to a veteran roster.

Harangody was very impressive during summer league play, which likely earned him a roster spot.

With Rasheed Wallace retiring, the Celtics needed another big man to come off the bench anyway.

While Harangody is a terrible defender and lacks athleticism, he can bang around down low and score from just about anywhere.

The Celtics love his versatility on the offensive end of the floor and also like his hustle.

Robinson was known for bringing a lot of energy, intensity and scoring ability off of the bench.

With the Celtics being an older team, Robinson’s energy was contagious and helped some of the players get fired up.

He was acquired before this year’s trade deadline from the New York Knicks, who felt he didn’t fit in their system.

The Celtics have been able to get Robinson to become more of a team player as opposed to always looking for his shot and playing hard on just one end of the floor.

O’ Neal found that home with the Boston Celtics, signing a two-year, $5.75 million contract to back up Kevin Garnett.

The center said he knew returning to the Miami Heat wasn’t going to be an option after their free agent spending spree.

Not only would he not get as much money to remain with the Heat, but his playing time would have been significantly reduced.

He believes Boston offers the best opportunity when it comes down to style of play and personalities on the team.

It was assumed that the Celtics were not willing to pay Allen and the two sides would part ways.

Allen was almost traded around the All-Star break with the way the team was struggling, but the Celtics ultimately turned things around.

However, with Paul Pierce returning and head coach Doc Rivers opting to come back, the Celtics want to give it at least one more shot with the current group.

There was some talk that Allen might end up in Miami, but they ran out of cap room with all of their free agent signings.

Pierce decided to opt out of his current contract with the Celtics looking to get a better deal on the open market.

However, it was pretty obvious all Pierce really wanted was to re-sign with Boston for more money.

The forward still believes the older Celtics have a couple of years left to make a run at another NBA title.

Shooting guard Ray Allen is also a free agent, but it seems unlikely that he will be re-signed by Boston.

Wallace limped through much of the NBA Finals and has been battling both knee and back problems.

He tried to speak to referees after the deciding Game 7, which many felt might have been a sign he would not return.

Head coach Doc Rivers said after the game that the felt as though Wallace left it all out on the court and was finished with his playing career.

The loss of Wallace will mean the Celtics have another hole to fill, but it will also open up valuable salary cap money.

Boston did an outstanding job of shutting down Kobe Bryant, who had a miserable shooting night.

Without Kendrick Perkins in the lineup, the Celtics had no answer down low for the Lakers’ height.

Pau Gasol dominated the interior, although Glen Davis, Kevin Garnett and Rasheed Wallace all played well.

Ray Allen did not play well, and a lot of his missed three-pointers may have been the difference in the game.

Perkins injured his knee in the second quarter of Game 6 when he landed awkwardly after jumping for a rebound.

He immediately pointed to his knee and went to the ground in pain before being helped off the floor.

He has not yet undergone an MRI since there is no real rush with just one game remaining in the season.

The team plans to re-evaluate Perkins once they get back to Boston and determine the extent of the injury.

Kobe Bryant scored 38 points but the Celtics did a nice job of shutting down everyone else around him.

The win gives Boston a 3-2 series advantage with just one more victory necessary to take the title.

It will be much easier said than done, though, as the Celtics will have to win one game in Los Angeles.

Games 6 and 7, if necessary, will both be played in California, where Boston has won one of two games this series.
